The AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix is considered to be one of the most traditional motorsport festivals for classic cars in Europe and thus marks the highlight of the historic motorsport season in Germany. With about 500 historic race cars from the end of the twentieth until the beginning of the eightieth, the event will provide a virtual time travel through the history of international motorsports.

The Oldtimer is the premier festival of historic motorsport in Germany. Hundreds of historic racing cars compete in numerous starting fields at the Nürburgring. Pre-war sports cars can be seen as well as formula cars from practically all epochs, including the FIA Championship for Historic Formula 1 cars.

A great emphasis is also placed on sports cars and GTs – here the range even extends to the present day, because recently the Masters Endurance Legends (cars from the Endurance World Championship and Le Mans up to 2006) are on board, and the Porsche Carrera Cup builds a bridge to current motorsport.

A great chance for fans to get up close to these unique cars and watch them perform. The field is comprised of carefully selected entries by our selection committee.

Ten run groups have been chosen with cars ranging in years from 1947-1974.

Run Groups

  • 1947-1955 Sports Racing and GT
  • 1955-1961 Sports Racing under & over 2000cc

The annual Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is a celebration of motorsport history that brings approximately 550 race cars together in one open paddock for everyone to enjoy.

Where else can you see and hear historic race cars at full speed doing what they were originally intended to do … and that’s race. Each accepted car, from more than 1,000 entry applications received, is scrutinized and accepted based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and period correctness.

Alfa Romeo featured at the US Vintage Grand Prix

SVRA’s US Vintage Grand Prix is one of the largest and most popular events on the Watkins Glen schedule, routinely drawing hundreds of vintage race cars from all eras, makes and models.

US Vintage Grand Prix Events

The weekend features large fields and great competition in all of SVRA’s race groups. The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli and International GT Series will once again join the weekend festivities.

Since the first SCCA “Grand Prix” at Watkins Glen in 1948, competition at “The Glen” has been an astounding success story, a story which continues to be expanded seven decades later. The annual Grand Prix Festival, held on Friday in the village of Watkins Glen, commemorates the first sports car races that took place on a 6.6-mile street course that still exists today. The high point of the Festival is a reenactment of this landmark event with over 100 SVRA race cars driving the original course to the cheers of 20,000+ spectators.

Alfa Romeo will be the featured marque.

Historic racing at the Goodwood Revival

The Goodwood Revival showcases the romance and glamour of motor racing as it used to be. Hundreds of rare and priceless cars, driven by champions past and present, compete for the most coveted trophies in historic motorsport, including the St Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul, and the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration.

The event is defined by its period dress code: tweeds and trilbies for men, furs and frocks for the ladies, and by its refusal to allow modern cars within the circuit on race days.

The Goodwood Revival always attracts the finest in historic motor racing talent – and a host of famous faces from the motorsport world and beyond.

This year the Monza Historic plays host to Peter Auto’s series of historic racing in Italy.

Monza is also the home of the tifosi, the unconditional supporters of the Scuderia Ferrari. These fans have all they need to go into raptures in the Monza Historic paddock in which “made in Maranello” prototypes and GTs can be seen including a Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta (1959), a Ferrari 512 S (1970), and a Ferrari 333 SP (1994). And the other Italian makes are not to be outshone with the presence of several Alfa Romeos, Bizzarrinis, De Tomasos, Iso Rivoltas, Maseratis, Lancias, Osellas and so on.

And finally the proximity of Milan adds an additional touch of charm to this event giving it a touristic and cultural dimension that encourages competitors to bring along their families.

Monza Historic Events

The Peter Auto grids are devoted to different periods of the history of motor sport and to different circuit racing cars: GTs, Sports cars, Prototypes and Touring cars from the 1950s to the 2000s.
