The opening round of the 2019 Formula Vintage Championship will take place on the National Circuit of Silverstone over the weekend of 13 and 14 April. The action packed two day event builds upon the history of the traditional Sprint Start Race Meeting and VSCC racing at Silverstone which dates back to April 1949. Almost seventy years later, the April Race Meeting at Silverstone remains one of the VSCC’s most popular events with spectators and competitors alike.
2017 saw the debut of Formula Vintage, the new name for the VSCC Race series and we are very excited to be hosting the first round of 2019’s Formula Vintage, which will undoubtedly be another exciting display of Pre-war and Historic trophy races highlighting the very best of Pre-war racers, on our National Circuit.
A regular programme of six Pre-war and Historic trophy races will top the bill at Silverstone, highlighting the very best of Pre-war racers against like for like machinery, featuring Pre-1931 Vintage Racing Cars, Pre-1961 Racing Cars and road-going Pre-war Sports-Cars, as well as eclectic Pre-war line-ups for our ever-popular All-Comers Scratch and Handicap formats.
To complement the year’s ‘Vintage’ content, we also look forward to welcoming competitors from many of the UK’s other celebrated Historic and Classic race series, including long-time associates the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association (HGPCA), 500 Owners Association, prominent 1950s/60s Series FISCAR, and some newer supporters in the Morgan Challenge Series.
